Talk to the World ⬩ by OpenMined
Your data, your terms.
AI is using the world’s information — but publishers are losing revenue, control, and trust. Meanwhile, AI users are running out of usable, high-quality data.
The marketplace for AI knowledge is broken.
We believe the solution is attribution-based control — built around openness, transparency, and choice.
We’re building a future where data owners decide how their work powers AI, and AI users choose trusted data sources — creating a healthier ecosystem for everyone.

What is the Talk To The World Beta Program?
The Talk to the World Beta is designed for news organizations and publishers who want to make their content accessible to AI — on their own terms.
If you run a digital publication on WordPress or another CMS, we’ll set up a one-click deployment at no cost to you. All it takes is a short onboarding call.
Once you’re live, you’ll get access to a powerful suite of tools:
• A dashboard to monitor how your content is being used
• A ChatGPT plugin that makes your data accessible to AI users, with attribution
• Built-in monetization so you’re paid when your content powers AI answers
You’ll join a growing network of publishers reclaiming control, building collective leverage, and turning AI into a revenue opportunity — not a risk.

A seat at the table for building a fair and open AI marketplace
Opportunities to collaborate with a community of leading publishers
We’re independent, nonprofit, and dedicated to building for the long-term.
Your feedback will directly shape what we create.

Why We’re Different
While others — like ProRata.ai — are also building AI marketplaces, their business model takes up to 50% of the revenue from publishers. When private companies control such marketplaces, it becomes dangerous for the industry. Pricing power is centralized, product availability becomes unpredictable, and control is lost in a black-box model.
We believe the future of AI data should be open and decentralized.
That’s why we’re building a network-driven marketplace — not a single company gatekeeping access to your data. Think of it as the Apache server for the AI world: open, community-driven, and accessible for everyone.
And it doesn’t have to be an “either-or” decision. We invite you to try us out alongside your current solution. Test out our tools, experience the transparency and control we provide, and decide for yourself how we can help you unlock the full value of your content.

Detailed Story: The Industry Landscape and Why We’re Doing This
In the current landscape, AI data marketplaces are dominated by private players who control access to information. These companies often take a significant cut — up to 50% of the revenue generated from publishers’ content. This leads to several risks for the industry:
- Centralized Power: A single company controlling the marketplace has undue influence over pricing and product availability, creating a monopoly that ultimately hurts the broader ecosystem.
- Lack of Transparency: In private, closed marketplaces, there’s often little to no transparency in how pricing is set or how data is distributed. Publishers and AI users are left in the dark about how their content is being used or how much they should be paid.
- Industry Instability: The future of AI data depends heavily on which companies own the infrastructure and dictate the rules of access. If one or a few private companies dominate, they’ll set the terms — creating an unpredictable and unfair marketplace that could damage the integrity of the entire industry.
At OpenMined, we believe the future of AI data should be open, transparent, and decentralized. While others, like ProRata.ai, are building AI marketplaces, their business models often take up to 50% of the revenue from publishers. This centralized control creates risks for the industry, such as:
- Pricing Power: When a single private company controls the marketplace, they can dictate prices and control product availability, undermining the fairness of the ecosystem.
- Lack of Transparency: Private companies often operate behind closed doors, offering little transparency about how data is used, distributed, or compensated. Publishers and AI users are left in the dark about key decisions.
- Industry Instability: As AI infrastructure becomes more concentrated in the hands of a few private players, the future of AI data access becomes unpredictable and inequitable.
In contrast, we are building a network-driven marketplace where data owners have full attribution-based control over how their content is used, and AI users can choose from trusted data sources, free from the constraints of centralized power.
Think of us as the Apache server for the AI world: an open, community-driven platform where no single party controls all the access. Instead, the marketplace is decentralized — anyone can contribute and access data on fair terms. We’re creating a platform where the network of contributors runs the show, not a single entity.
In this model:
- Publishers retain control over their data, determining how it’s shared and how they’re compensated.
- AI users have the freedom to choose reliable, verified data sources without worrying about paywalls or pricing manipulation.
- Transparency is baked into the system, so everyone knows how their data is being used and how prices are set, eliminating the secrecy often found in traditional models.
By decentralizing the control, we ensure that power remains with the people who generate the data — the publishers. The marketplace is driven by the community, with each contributor helping to shape the future of AI data. This decentralized approach is healthier, more stable, and more sustainable than relying on one or two companies that control everything.
